“With these questions on our minds, we continued to explore our similarities and differences in regards to what was happening in each of lives when we were attracted to each of the different stones we all had in our jewelry boxes.

After further exploring Jade, Quartz and Turquoise, the only consistent pattern we could discern was that we all seemed to be attracted to Quartz, the Stone of Powerful Energy, when we felt tired, energetically depleted, or knew we had a “big day” ahead of us and wanted to make certain we kept our energy levels high.  And, this awareness came only after we all had a few minutes to think about the times we each wore Quartz and to then build upon our similarities.

We concluded there was a lot to learn about our lives from our jewelry boxes; there was much to learn from the different stones as they attracted us on a daily basis (or did not attract us); and that these simply looking stones were very subtle in their support while being quite powerful as well.”

“How interesting that each of us had Amethyst in our jewelry boxes – how we were all seeking clarity!

The Stone Shop proprietor talked about the fact that she had kept an Amethyst stone in her possession ever since she opened the store.  She went on to wonder how the Amethyst was giving her clarity regarding her Shop – was it supporting her on what to order for the store, which patrons to provide insights and awareness as they shopped , and whether to expand her store?  

I was intrigued as I watched each of the ladies talk about their own “experience” with Amethyst; how they had each experienced times when they wore Amethyst on a daily basis and then how, without their awareness or thinking, they simply stopped wearing it.

And we wondered:  How do the stones attract us?  Do we each have a unique connection to the Stones? And, what is occuring in our lives that causes us to purchase and/or wear particular stones?”

“We began with Jasper, the Supreme Nurturing Stone.  Much to our surprise, not only did we all have several pieces of Jasper, we all had at least one necklace with Picture Jasper, Autumn Jasper, and Red Jasper in them.  This was amazing! 

As we researched these Jasper types, we found that they all had  subtly different energies: Picture Jasper assists us all in discovering the hidden messages in life; Red Jasper is particularly supportive in reducing the impact of setbacks; and Autumn Jasper nurtures through gentle calming and reduction of our need for drama.

As each type of Jasper was discussed for its particular subtle strength, we reminisced about what was occurring in our lives during the times we were most drawn to wear our necklaces.  Interestingly, all of us was wearing Picture Jasper at least once a week now – during this time of change and anxiety in our world.  Each of us was looking for the hidden meaning – rather than simply needing to be nurtured.

We congratulated each other for staying out of drama and in learning and moved on to the next stone – Amethyst.”

“Next we tackled the question of our jewelry boxes.  Did our jewelry boxes provide us insights into what we had and needed in our lives?  And, did what we chose to wear from our jewelry box tell us what we desired in our lives in that moment?

Much to my surprise, each of the ladies produced a listing of the stones they had discovered in their jewelry boxes.  We began to compare lists.  It was amazing.  Each of us had one or more pieces of Jasper, the Supreme Nurturing stone; Amethyst, the Stone of Clarity; Jade, the Stone of Good Luck, Quartz, the Energy Stone, and Turquoise, the Stone of Protection.

There were other stones represented as well in individual jewelry boxes but not in all of our jewelry boxes.  With this list, we began to discuss when we often wore the different pieces and began to notice some interesting patterns.”

  Was it possible the impact of the stone energies is most noticeable when we are operating in an environment that has easily identifiable energy patterns?  And, when we are operating in a larger environment impacting more people and having more possible solutions, the impact of their subtle energy is less discernable?

In this regard then, the stones have the greatest impact in those areas of our life where we have spent the most time or investedment.  We concluded that this insight did not mean the stones had no impact in the other areas – it simply meant that the impact was the less discernable.

This made great sense to me.  I could see how the subtle energies, due to their subtle nature, would not have as recognizable an impact in those areas that were either larger in scope or had a less well developed energy pattern.

Good, one question answered without creating more questions.”

“As a refresher, Heather’s question was why did the subtle energy of Amazonite only seem to impact the family area of her life and not the career area….why did the subtle energy only seem to focus on that area?

Upon stating the question, I noticed that several of the ladies had an undeniable blank look on their face as if they had never considered this subtle energy application.  I felt a bit depressed until I noticed one ladies face light up…..her countenance shifted to one of delight and energy and with that shift we were off and running.

The ladies name was Barbara and she began by sharing something that had occurred in her life.  Her favorite stone to wear and keep in her pocket or purse is Amethyst, the Stone of Clarity.  She told us that my question caused her to realize that she had experienced Amethyst supporting her whenever she dealt with family related issues and not so much when she dealt with issues related to questions or concerns outside her family.

This statement caused us all to ponder what the difference might be….”

“Finally our appointed day arrived and I headed to the Stone Shop.  I had my list of stones, the number of pieces of jewelry I had of each, the last time I wore each of the stones, and the list of stones I kept on my fireplace mantel.  I knew we were going to discover a great deal about my life from this information and I could not wait.

 Upon arriving at the Stone Shop, I noticed that the proprietor had a table in the back set with a pot of tea and several cups and saucers…..awesome, this meant she must have invited several of her of so unique friends and I could not wait to hear what they had to say.

We all gathered around the table with our tea and scones – each of us totally enjoying the moment and the possibilities that lay ahead of us.  I was introduced to each of the intriguing ladies in turn and then introduced myself, shared my interest in understanding the subtle energy of the stones and the experiment I had been conducting.

The ladies present were more than intrigued.  We decided to start with Heather’s question.”

“Once home, I went directly to my jewelry box and to the fireplace mantel on which I displayed the stones I had in my home.  To my surprise, both locations had the same stones in them.  There as Jasper, the Supreme Nurturing Stone; Agate, the Stone of Stability; Amethyst, the Stone of Clarity; Carnelian, the Stone of Courage; and Fluorite, the Stone of Progress. 

I found it amazing I had not noticed the preponderance of these stones in my jewelry box – and how interesting that I had chosen them for my friends during the experiment.  I began to wonder what our jewelry boxes or stone collections really said about each individual…did it speak to that which we were seeking?…did it talk to who we are?…and if I had not worn some of the stone pieces for quite some time, what did it say about who I was then and who I am now?

With these questions in my mind, I could not wait for my next meeting with the Stone Shop proprietor.”

“Although I  know I seek adventure and new challenges in my life,  I would not describe my life as any more or less adventuresome than others.   In all other areas, my life is what I would call normal and delightful.

As for my jewelry box, I told her I needed to go home and check it out.  I don’t remember if I have any other primary stones in my jewelry box or in my house as I have some wonderful stones lying about. 

I then asked her what she had learned regarding how the subtle energies of the stones effected our lives?  She indicated that she still had more research to conduct and would let me know soon.

With our mutual promise of connecting within the next few days, I left the shop with much on my mind.”

“With this question hanging in the air, the Stone Stop proprietor asked me several other questions about my life.  Specifically, beyond Jasper, did I have any other primary stone jewelry pieces in my jewelry box that I frequently wear?  That I used to frequently wear?  And, as a bit of overview, how would I describe my life in general.

Being a bit backward, I started with the last question first.  How would I describe my life in general?  Let me think…..

I would describe my life as blessed in many ways and challenged in others.  I have been blessed in my family and friends and opportunities to learn and grow.  My challenges have come in both dramatic, nearly life threatening manners and in run of the mill challenges we all seem to face during our life.”
